COSTA DEL SOL, SPAIN TRIP – ALANDA CLUB MARBELLA, YR 2019 – DR. MOHD IBRAHIM BIN HJ MOHAMED

We headed to Spain, for (8) days from 1st March – 8th March 2019 and stayed at Alanda Club Marbella. The hotel is situated at the Southern Coast at Marabella, Malaga, Spain with a superb weather about 18 – 20 degrees Celsius.

We would rate our experience as 3-4 Star with Interval International. Our booking process was immediate via the exchange booking system. Overall, we would say that our booking process is quite good, accurate and fast.

We went to London first with Emirate Airlines and then we flew the Norwegian Airline to Malaga, Spain which was less than 3 hours from London. We spend approximately RM1,800 for 3 Pax for the flight ticket from London to Malaga, Spain.

We visited places of Muslim architecture and historical and one of the most interesting places we visited was the Rock of Gibraltar. It’s a rock structure that brings a lot of attraction to tourists. You can walk up the stairs and have a glimpse of the top view. Just be sure to bring your water bottle and wear comfortable shoes. We visited a few mosques and there was a mosque that was turned into a church which caught our attention. In order to make our traveling easier, we rented a car for 60 Euros for a week which was equivalent to RM280 and that was quite reasonable.

Most of the time time we had western food from a nearby cafes or Mc Donald’s. Since our apartment has cooking facilities, we cook most of the time, especially for breakfast. However, if you are in Spain, you need to try their Steak because it’s really good and don’t miss out to try the Falafel which is a deep-fried ball or a flat or doughnut-shaped patty which is made from ground chickpeas, fava beans, or both. In total, we spend approximately RM600 for 3 Pax.

During our trip to Spain, one of the special highlights was the Flamenco Show and Horse Dancing. It’s something unique that we have not watched before. Hence, both these shows were quite amazing.

For the hotel that we stayed, I would rate it as 8 out of 10 because there were many good parking spots available, nice swimming pool and it was included with a fully equipped kitchen. We were very happy and satisfied with the hotel facilities and the location of the hotel was strategic which were nearby with so many convenient stores.

For me, being a member of SGI VC, it encourages me to travel using its membership. Since I’m a frequent traveler, therefore this membership is quite beneficial for me as I don’t need to pay for accommodation in the future. For all SGI VC members who travel via Interval International, please book early like 6 months in advance so that you can have the time to plan your vacation systematically.
